We are surrounded by sound in our everyday lives, but how often do we really think about it? This session explores how we make, hear and use sound and most importantly, how we can enjoy it! Children will be asked to explain and examine various aspects of sound. By listening to and identifying some familiar and unfamiliar noises, they will build up a picture to describe the sounds in the world around them!
This workshop is suitable for children aged 5-11. Children must be supervised at all times by a parent or carer. Parents and carers go free with a child’s ticket. Booking in advance is strongly advised due to previous demand.
More information and ticket booking at the Museum of Oxford. Science Oxford's family workshops are designed for you and your child to learn from each other and work together while trying out new things. Our fun sessions are designed to engage children and their families with STEM: science, technology, engineering and maths. Through entertaining demos and hands-on activities, children have a chance to learn, explore, question and investigate different areas of science.
Workshops run for one hour and the session times are: 10.30am, 12.30am or 2pm.
